TAX HELP FOR SENIORS & THOSE WITH LOW INCOMES

Volunteers will be available to complete your 2009 tax returns starting Tuesday, February 2nd, at the Oil City Library working every Tuesday and Wednesday until April 13th; at the Baptist Church in Franklin starting Thursday, February 4th, working every Thursday and Friday (except Good Friday) until April 15th from 8 AM until 3 PM.  You should bring all 2009 tax documents including your real estate tax receipts marked PAID.  It would be helpful if you bring last year's (2008) returns.

Every Wednesday, March 3-31 - Lenton Luncheons at Trinity UMC, 2 Center St., Oil City.  Serving lunch from 11 am to 1 pm.  Soup $2 per bowl or $5 per quart.  Sloppy Joe $1.75, Tuna, Egg or Ham Sandwich $1.50, Tossed Salad $1.50, Jello Salad $1.25, Pickled Egg $.50, Desserts $2 and Beverages $1.  To order call 677-2086 and ask for the kitchen.  Take-outs are available.  Will deliver orders over $10.   Proceeds go to Trinity UMC General Fund.

 Friday, March 12 - Deadline for Nomination for Venango Co. Substance Abuse and MH/MR recognition of individuals who have made a significant contribution in the fields of substance abuse, mental health, mental retardation, and early intervention.  Individuals who meet the following criteria may be nominated for recognition:  1.) An adult, youth or family whose professional work is directed at improving the lives of those living with substance abuse, mental illness, mental retardation, or developmental disabilities. 2.) An adult or youth who has shown personal commitment or service to the community by helping those in need.  Nomination forms are available by calling 814-432-9744 or 432-9752.  Winners will be recognized on April 21 at the annual SAP and MH/MR dinner.

Friday  March 12th  through Sunday March 21th  - The Rocky Grove Pilgrim Holiness Church, at 925 Rocky Grove Avenue, would like to invite you to hear Melvin & Kaye Beecher, evangelist and singers from the state of Indiana.  They both graduated from Hobe Sound Bible College and have had a number of years experience as a pastor, a missionary and was also the President of a Bible School in Colorado Springs, CO.  here will be services at 7:00 pm each evening and a morning service on Sunday starting at 9:45 am.    Come and bring a friend with you.   All are invited to attend these revival services.  Hope to see you there. March 14 –17 - ”ENCOUNTER” Special Services with TONY CRUZ at Chapel on the Hill, Emlenton, 7:00 pm nightly.   10:00 am & 6:30 pm on Sunday, March 14.  Growing up in the Bronx, New York City, Tony was often surrounded by drugs and violence. After losing his father at the age of seven, he was raised by his single mother. As a teenager, he got involved with street activity. One day he was invited to an outreach where he heard a solid presentation of the gospel. It was that night that he realized his life needed something different that the streets were not giving him. Tony put his trust in the Lord that night.  For well over a decade, Tony has been preaching about the life changing message of hope, healing, forgiveness and purpose found in Jesus Christ alone. Main St. in Seneca, PA 16346.  Featured speaker is Michelle Borquez, a dynamic writer and speaker with a heart for the broken, the wounded, and for restoration in the body.  She is President of God Crazy Ministries.  She is a woman of vision, a ministry leader, television & raido personality and mother fo four.  She has worked as a business consultant for George Barna, John Maxwell’s INJOY, Bee Alive, American Assoc. of Christian Counselors, Extraordinary Women, Family Restoration to name a few.

April 8 - Reservations Due for Making of America Seminar on May 8 at Seneca Hills Bible Conference, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.  This all day seminar will be a learning experience for your whole family and includes lunch.  Study guides will be provided.  Seminar fee is $25 per individual or $40 per couple or $15 per child 15 and under.  This exciting seminar will teach principles from the preamble through the amendments to the Constitution.  You will learn how nearly every problem in America today can be solved by restoring these successful concepts.  The seminar is sponsored by Lighthouse Ministries, American Family Association of PA and Venango County Tea Party Patriots.   

Thursday, April 22 - 17th Annual Focus on Our Future Community Forum, 8:30 to 4:30 at the Oil City YWCA.  Forum Theme: R.E.S.P.E.C.T with presenting Keynote Speaker: Jess Wiener with a desire to create social change.  Jess was a founding member of the University Park Ensemble; the UPE used social, health and educational theatre to create social action and campus awareness on such topics as body image, eating disorders, date rape and sexual assault, hate crimes, diversity issues, and domestic violence.
