Trinity United Methodist, 2 Center St. in Oil City announces the beginning of Saturday evening Contemporary Worship Services.  Beginning June 7 at 5:15 p.m.  Dress is casual & everyone is welcome

Atlantic Ave. United Brethren Nursery & Preschool, 160 Atlantic Ave., Franklin is now accepting  registrations for 08-09 school year.  Children must be 3 years old before Aug. 1.  Classes will be held from 8:45 to 11:45 a.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays.  To register contact Holly Small at 814-432-2835. Class size is limited.

Applications for the Pre-K Counts Program are being accepted at Child Development Centers.  This free program is available to 4 year olds for 2008-09 school year.  For more information contact Martha Hoover at 437-7288

Sunday, May 11 - Sunday, June 15 - ABC Pregnancy Center's 2nd annual "Baby Bottle Boomerang" Bottle will be distributed at your church/organization on Mother's Day, May 11 to be returned with your contributions (change, cash, or check made payable to ABC Pregnancy Center) on Father's Day June 15. Friday & Saturday May 16 & 17 – An indoor Yard Sale at the Oil City Free Methodist Church,  Friday, 12 pm to 6 pm Friday, 6am to 2 pm Saturday.  All proceeds from this sale will go benefit the Clear Blue Project, which helps supply Africa with clean water wells. Donations for the sale are being accepted at the church located at 206 Wilson Ave OC, May 12th through the 15th from 6-8pm. For more information please call Lisa at 814-677-3184

Saturday, May 17 - Spaghetti Dinner & Chinese Auction, 4:30-7:00 pm. at the Venus United Evangelical Church, 113 State Route 157  The cost of Dinner is $5.00 for Adults; $3.00 children 5-12; 4 and under Free. Sunday, Monday, & Tuesday, May 18, 19, & 20 - "Spring Renewal Services" 7 pm each evening at Galloway United Methodist Church; featuring Pastor Clark Whitten speaking on the subject GRACE.  Pastor Whitten has been the lead pastor of some of the largest Assembly of God Churches in our nation.  These services will be a great time to invite family, friends and coworkers to come and allow God to pour His grace into each of our lives. 

Sunday, May 18 - Rhubarb Festival/Buffet from 10:30 - 1:30 at Bethel United Methodist Church. Featured items: Swedish meatballs - chicken, potato & vegetable casseroles, salad, rolls /muffins, beverage, and of course Rhubarb desserts.  The Church is located at 2656 State Route 417, Franklin the building is Handicapped Accessible, Dine in or Take out for a donation to the Building Fund of the church.

Sunday, May 18 -  Spring Singspiration, 7 pm at the First Church of God of Franklin, 705 Liberty Street, Franklin, Pa. Starting at seven o'clock in the evening. Musicians from the congregation and community churches singing praises to our God. "A New Song" is the theme for the evening which is dedicated to the memory of Richard "Dick" DeLong, former elder of the congregation. Bring your singing voice.

Wednesday, May 21 - Venango Co. Veterans Coalition Meeting, 10:30 a.m. at the Franklin VFW, 411 Ninth St. in Franklin.  The meeting is open to all military or anyone who wishes to support our troops in any way.  For more information about the Venango Co. Wednesday, June 4 - Cranberry Baccalaureate Service, student planned and sponsored will be held at the Cranberry Gymnasium at 7 pm.  Pastor Rob Wilson will be the speaker.

Wednesday, June 11 - VNA sponsoring the “13th  Annual Camp Good Grief” a day camp this summer for young people who have experienced the death of a family member or friend.  Camp Good Grief is set from 9 am to 8 pm, Wednesday June 11 at Singing Hills Girl Scout Camp near Two Mile Run County Park.  The camp for youth ages 5 to 18 is a therapeutic, fun experience in which campers learn more about grief, meet others who have had similar experiences, and learn how to grow beyond their losses.  Activities will include swimming, a campfire, hands-on workshops, a memorial service, a candle lighting ceremony and more.  The camp registration fee is $10. Financial help is available upon request for families who need assistance in covering this expense.  Families can sign up campers or learn more by calling the VNA office, 814-678-1111. The registration deadline is Monday, June 2

Friday & Saturday July 11 & 12 - Fallowfield United Methodist Church is sponsoring a Sight and Sound trip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The group will leave from Anderson's Coach and Travel in Greenville. They will be seeing In the Beginning and Abraham and Sarah. They are also taking a tour of the Amish countryside, and we will be having dinner in an Amish home. There will be time to do some shopping, too.  Please contact Allen or Joyce Jacobs 814.382.3124.

Saturday, October 4 -Oil Region Handbell Festival Titusville Middle School 415 Water Street Titusville, Pa  ~Handbell Choirs and Handchime Choirs of all ages are welcome!~ This Level I and II one-day event is brought to you by the combined efforts of The Presbyterian Memorial Handbell Choir and The Sonrise Ringers Ecumenical Handbell Choir sponsored by The First United Methodist Church, both of Titusville.  We hope your choir(s) will decide to participate.  There will be two divisions to ring in and you may choose all or part of the music you wish to play.  You may register as an ‘orphan’ ringer or choir.The day will start at 9:00 a.m  with rehearsals and workshops After a Catered Banquet we will hold a 7:00 p.m. Public Concert including Sue Garton, renowned solo-ringer  We are pleased to have Howard Moser as our guest conductor.
